True, but that's only important if you presuppose a relationship between hand-preference and ability to become president. It's still just 44 people, a few of the last few of which have a somewhat rare trait.

Let's say a basketball player has a 90% free-throw percentage. Let's also say he's taken 10,000 free throws. Let's also say that of those 10,000, he's only taken 44 of them when his team is down by exactly 19 points. Of those 44 attemps, which could be spread out over many years, he's missed five of the last seven. I wouldn't say that this example implies any relationship between game score and free-throw ability. It's too small of a sample.

Now make it hundreds of millions of free throws he's taken and it's even less significant.

Of course, both of my parents and both of my siblings are left handed, and I'm not, so I may just be exercising my bitterness at being the right-handed minority in my house growing up.

Until the last ten or twenty years the brain research either was done on righties or paid no attention to handedness. Thankfully that has been changing some lately.

Overall left-handers are superior. There are some theories why - perhaps because they use more of both lobes of their brain, perhaps some other reason. We do know for sure that left handers are not simply the mirror image or right handers. No. Lefties are clearly different and superior.

We don't (yet) know what determines handedness, but there is a definite genetic component. As Apostropher said, two righties produce a lefty 10% of the time, two lefties get a lefty 25% of the time. A lefty and righty they don't know yet.

As expected in the inferior righty culture lefties used to be shunned and persecuted and forced to conform by The Man.

My ex and I, both left-handers, had our house set up for lefties, including a left-hander's cork screw. It was amusing to see right-handers suffer trying to open a bottle or trying to use our scissors. Yet we used "right" handed objects competently every day. No doubt there is an advantage to being left-handed in sports, except for jai alai, where you must play right-handed.
