Three girls up for pork queen crown. With pictures!
Apropos of nothing, but still on the subject of pork...

The drained brains fall mainly on the plains.
Pork brains are too high in cholesterol for my taste. I'm going to stick with scrapple.
Posted by: Spike at March 28, 2008 08:52 PMIt was the milk gravy that added that frisson of queasiness
Posted by: waldo at March 28, 2008 09:41 PMThose three girls will make strong, fine women in their time. Read the whole article for those accomplishments.

Posted by: Ru at March 28, 2008 11:22 PM2 gets it exactly right. Brains? Fine. Canned meat? Probably not the tastiest, but still okay. Canned meat in milk? Jesus fucking christ.

The whole article needs a proofreader. They've randomly duplicated and scattered paragraphs all through it. One of the girls has two mothers, and shares one of them with her pork queen rival.

Everybody knows that brains are bad for you.
I do not like green eggs and brains.
I do not like them, Dick and Jane.
Armour Executive 1: I like this pork brains idea, but is there any way we can make the product less appealing to Kosher Jews?
Armour Executive 2: Sure, just add milk!
Simultaneously: Mazel Tov!

Posted by: Gaijin Biker at March 29, 2008 10:32 PMSure, pork brains in milk gravy sounds pretty gross, but all they need to do is hire some ad execs from Estonia and they'll be moving product in no time.
Posted by: Doctor Slack at March 30, 2008 12:21 AMConversation between me and a friend who worked at a slaughterhouse in the remote past:
Me: I guess mad cow disease won't be much of a problem in North America.
Him: Why?
Me: We don't generally eat brains here. It's more popular in Europe.
Him: No. Most North Americans eat brain all the time.
Me: Huh?
Him: Hot dogs.
