i've been reading from lj for a few years, thanks for the continuous weirdness...i was surprised no one had commented yet about Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon where he dubs James Dean "The Human Ashtray" and describes mucho proclivities for "TROUBLED" and being "slapped"
(he also says WAYYY too much about Rosebud)
Posted by: strobahedron at September 13, 2007 10:02 PM2: There was a PBS documentary made in the early to mid '90s about Orson Welles' clash with William Randolph Hearst over Citizen Kane (it's included on the Kane DVD) where it's revealed that, among all the other jabs against Hearst in the film, "Rosebud" was apparently his pet name for a certain part of his mistress' anatomy (they never explained exactly how this came to Welles' attention). Was this what Anger was referring to, or are there even more juicy bits?
