Quick hits.

Bendito Machine is about eight different kinds of awesome.

Might be time to rethink black holes.

My son and I absolutely love the freefall rides, but not when it severs your feet. Christ almighty.

What not to name your child.

Shaye Saint John is on the internet 24/7 signing autographs. But that sort of thing eventually leads to nerve fiber surgery. And there's a whopping lot of her website to explore.

stopping "just 20 terrifying feet above the pavement"

Time for 6 flags to redo some of their promotional literature...

When Rammit Deep gets older the, "what's your porn name," game isn't going to be nearly as much fun.

"just 20 terrifying feet above the pavement"

Um, uh, 18! 18 terrifying feet above the pavement!

Bad times. God that story gives me the willies.

Yeah, me too, having been on the same ride in other parks with my kid. Eek.

You know what gives *me* the willies? Shaye Saint John. Say, doesn't she have a recurring role in those Saw movies?

That Bendito Machine movie is so cool. But what purpose do the eye modules serve, what are they used for?

As a Zappa fan, I'd have thought you'd be hesitant to take your kids on a ride called the Tower of Power.

Heh. The two I've been on were called Drop Zone Stunt Towers, at Kings Dominion and Carowinds. I see they've both been shut down for having the same defect.

But what purpose do the eye modules serve, what are they used for?

I got the impression that they represented manufactured goods in general...the by-products of civilization, especially as they piled up uselessly at the end. Eyes are often symbolic of knowledge...perhaps the accumulated wisdom of mankind, being mass-produced, packaged and consumed, then finally forgotten. But hey, I could be way off.

Works for me. I was approaching it a little more literally but your way makes sense.

Hiring a consultant to name your baby? It goes to prove what an old line cook I used to work with at a fancy restaurant said: "Man, if you charge enough for it, white people will buy anything."
