The 2006 Darwin Awards have been announced, though I must admit that this year's crop seems a bit lackluster.
Why is the winner, "Hammer of Doom", called "1st Runner Up"? Shouldn't it be called the winner?
Posted by: Gaijin Biker at January 4, 2007 07:27 PMI thought the winner was the top-voted one, the guy who immolated himself.
Posted by: apostropher at January 4, 2007 08:43 PMThough now that I look at it, that interpretation doesn't hold water either. I guess I just have no idea.
Posted by: apostropher at January 4, 2007 08:44 PMIt looks like "Star Wars" used to be the winner but was disqualified. So maybe they just didn't bump up the runner-ups after eliminating the original winner.
