I'm not sure, but this may be the first time I've ever given President Bush a thumbs up. This is a very, very good thing.
TrackBackYessss..... Give yourself to the Republican side. It is the only way you can save your ocean friends. Use your aggressive feelings, boy! Let the hate flow through you.

CAPITAL GAINS TAXES ARE THE WORK OF SATAN!

As I pointed out at GB's Riding Sun - who has noted his surprise at your goods words to Bush under the cute heading "Flying pig alert" - there are very good reasons for this action by Bush, who I would contend is the one who is showing that yes, pigs can fly.
What's really happening is that Darth Vader and the Emperor finally appear to be turning towards the good force. Since the designation of the marine sanctuary as a Monument cannot be undone except by Congress, some good is definitely being done, although there is no small degree of easy political opportunism at low costs.
We can only hope that the reefs, which have already exhibited signs of coral bleaching, will not be destroyed by ongoing global warming, on which the Administration still refuses to act.
Posted by: TokyoTom at June 16, 2006 05:28 AMTypical. Don't buy this crap. Read the article carefully:
"...biologically rich chain of coral reefs"?
It's a time-honored Republican tradition to do favors for the "rich" and pass it off as some sort of noble gesture. Oh, yeah, these guys in their brightly colored scales and elaborate mating rituals get a preserve larger than all other National Parks combined, but what about the Cod, Halibut, and common Whitefish? They get nothing. Good, hard-working, sealife just trying to get by and the preserve-burden just gets shifted more and more to them. Why? Because they're probably Union.
Karl Rove had something to do with this, I have no doubt.
Posted by: froz gobo at June 16, 2006 09:52 AMOf course pigs can fly. That's what trebuchets are for.
Posted by: My Alter Ego at June 16, 2006 10:05 AMWhat the article didn't mention was that the "documentary" which the president and his wife watched that convinced him to do this was actually the episode of Spongebob Squarepants where Spongebob and Patrick go into Sandy's airdome for the first time.
Posted by: Cangrejero at June 16, 2006 10:38 AMSo chimpy the power paedophile picked up some garbage and he's redeemed? Fuck that shit.
