Ex-CIA agent Larry Johnson passes on some insider dirt on the Porter Goss resignation that seems like a reasonable explanation. The short version? It wasn't Goss (or Foggo) galavanting with lobbyist-provided prostitutes, but a key staff member is "highly likely" to have participated.
TrackBackThe man's name is actually Foggo; I think "Froggo" comes from Johnson thinking about the Plame case a lot.

Posted by: Matt Weiner at May 6, 2006 01:16 PMGoss retiring for someone else's "gallivanting" is hard to believe. There must be something else going on. Maybe Goss (or Bush or someone else) decided they've done enough damage to the CIA and think it wise for Goss to step down before more good people leave, so that a meaningful CIA will exist as a check to military intelligence?
