Please. This just shows that the Garden of Eden is located in Argentina, and this is just one of God's creations before the fall. When they find something truly transitional, like something that looks like a man in many respects but doesn't walk upright all the time, then you can yell and scream about what us creationist ass-hats think.

Actually, Ro-Mac, in Genesis, God took away the serpent's legs and made him to slither upon his belly. Like tweedle says, it's just a pre-Fall snake. Maybe even the serpent. What good's all that college learning doing you now, huh, smart guy?

Here in the One True Reformed Church of Pantsonia, we prefer a God who's just really into the draft phase of design. It makes us feel better when we fail to finish projects we otherwise really enjoyed thinking about.

I imagine that creationists will just retool whatever argument they have as to why boas and pythons have claws.

They won't accept any part of evolution simply because for them it is easier to deny than it is to reorder their belief system. Islamists have the same problem with evolution. It is only that the failures of the Bush regime have been so apparent that the cognitive dissonance between what they WANT to believe and what is actually happening that finally some right-wingers are turning away from Bush. True believers just can't get over the hump.

This is really a problem of human brain design - and more proof that the Intelligent Designer likes a good joke.

The book of Genesis describes snakes as once having legs, and people for ages wanted to use that passage to disprove the Bible. Now we have proof!
