I don't have much in the way of an opinion about the Israeli election, but I do marvel that while today's turnout of 62.3% was the lowest in Israel's history, Americans have to go back 46 years to find the last election in which we reached that level of participation.

The last time Sweden had less than 80% turnout was 1956.

While I think American turnout in national elections is pathetic, I believe the day most earthlings can accept that Isreal and Palestine can go fuck themselves, the better humanity will be.

If you had the vote on a saturday, didn't make people register, and got rid of gerrymanders and the electoral college, turnout would presumably be higher. You have low turnout because the GOP wants low turnout.

It's not a fair comparison because Israel is engaged in a military struggle in the Middle East, and... ohwaitnevermind.
