Ravers' trust of people shattered by shooting
Also, the ecstasy wore off.
TrackBackActually, what's really shocking about that story is that it happened about 10 blocks from where I used to live, in a pretty "upscale" neighborhood in a city that has a really low crime rate and quite a vibrant youth music culture. About ten years ago or so, there was a similar shocker when a woman who was, I think, a musician was raped and murdered after a party or a gig; no one was ever convincted and the local feminists started a long-term street safety campaign; though I think the center folded just a year or two ago, I'm pretty sure that the case and the sense of its import haven't faded. I imagine this may end up having some of the same effects.
In any case, I'm shocked by it.

They did arrest and convict someone ten years later.
