Bush's approval rating: 34%.
Approval on his handling of Iraq: 30%
Approval of anti-terror policies: 44%
Approval of Katrina response: 32%

What do you think McCain would have done differently, RJ? And, a deeply unpopular executive can act as a serious drag in the 2006 and 2008 elections. Anyhow, at this point, I'd be satisfied just to see him leave office with Nixon-level approval ratings and a widespread agreement that his was a failed presidency. I'm easy like that.
