Ok, now I'm just making this up, but suppose somebody on the space station killed a crew mate that they just couldn't stand being in close quarters with for so long. It would be really bad PR if the story got out, so ground control comes up with this idea to toss out an EMPTY space suit....

Naw, couldn't happen.
