The vast chicken wing conspiracy.

You're not fat, you're big boned.

A group [...] on Monday launched an advertising campaign aimed at dismissing as hype concerns about the large number of obese Americans. The full-page ads in major U.S. newspapers were inspired by new government data questioning government assertions that obesity causes nearly as many deaths as smoking, according to the Center for Consumer Freedom, which paid for the ads. The group, based in Washington, does not disclose names of its donors, though spokesman Mike Burita said casual dining restaurant chains "are predominant sources of funding for us."

Mr. B. got food poisoning at Red Lobster once. Which, while admittedly not fatal, was certainly very unpleasant.

About once every five years, I forget how badly Red Lobster sucks and think, "Really, how bad can fried seafood be?" Because I love love love cheap fried seafood. Then I go and remember that the last time I was there I'd promised myself never to return.

Honestly, I don't know how one makes fried shrimp turn crappy but, by god, they've done it every time I've eaten there. And they aren't even particularly cheap.

I used to have that same problem with Long John Silver's. And then at some point I finally got it through my thick skull that no: LJS really, truly, is absolutely disgusting and vile and I never want to eat there again.

I've eaten too many times at a good cheap seafood joint on the Outer Banks, NC. I don't think I can go back to a Red Lobster. Well, maybe I can now because I haven't been to the beach in eons. Dammit.
