At least he spelled district correctly.

ThinkProgress has launched dropthehammer.org, a site designed to pressure corporations to stop contributing to Tom DeLay's legal defense trust. This is a worthy cause, and predictably, they get letters.

Hey ass hole [sic]. Tom Delay happens to be my congresman [sic] and I am happy with the job he does for me and my district. Why don’t you get the F@&* out of our district and leave us alone. Better yet, come speak to me personally and I will show you what I think of you.

Kevin Cole
Pealrand [sic], TX
[Cell Phone # Redacted]

As Judd points out, Mr. Cole is both a City Councilman in Pearland and a Baptist deacon, though at some point in the last 30 minutes, his picture and bio magically disappeared from the Pearland city government website (the google cache is here), leaving pages for only four of the five City Council slots. Hmm. Nobody should be surprised that he admires Tom DeLay, though, since they both seem to have trouble staying clear of ethics violations.

I removed the phone number from the comment above this one, as I don't want to be party to Mr. Cole receiving harassing phone calls. If anybody reading this feels the need to contact him (I don't, myself), please do not sink to the level exhibited in his email. We should be better people than that.

Interogatives such as ' Why don't you get the F@&* out of our district and leave us alone' should be punctuated with a question mark.

In similar normative news, people holding elected office should be able to spell.

That's it, Lenhart just lost my vote.

In more semi-serious wonderings, isn't it great when city councilmen issue threats via email? That's just awesome. Jesus H., what does he think this is, a crappy Western?

Having grown up in the general vicinity of Pearland, I can tell you there are no pears there, nor is there functioning sugar factory left in Sugar Land.

In response to Sterling....

Don't you remember? The position of Baptist Deacon is used to expand your community influence, social status, and your perceived "moral" register among your peers.

I remember a Rev., Dr. Croom, in the middle of a church service, began admonishing the list of "candidates" for a vote on Deacon positions, because it came to his attention that some gentlemen were actually campaigning for votes!

He, Dr. Croom, stopped short of saying that the "candidates" actions really pissed God the f@#K off. If folks would bring ethics into question in a vote for Baptist Deacons, I guess everything is fair game when it comes to the candidate's conscience.

You don't want to piss God the f#$k off, do you? .... I should try using that in my threats!

-I didn't spell check this post!

F@#kers!!!!

If this brings foul language closer to the acceptable norms, I'll have a little less mouth to watch.

BRING IT ON
