Just over three and a half months ago, I upgraded to the latest versions of Movable Type and MT-Blacklist. Given current rates, MT-Blacklist's odometer will roll over at some point this week, recording the 100,000th blocked spam comment at apostropher.com. 100,000. Sheesh.
TrackBackBefore I removed code to get and show referrers, and before ibiblio removed all ability to leave comments on MT-like blogs (including Pivot), even my lowly blog strained under the avalanche of spamments and referrer spam. (Who thought of referrer spam? Someone with way too much time on their hands, obviously.) And then, one day, I looked at my sitemeter and found that one IP address was having 600 page views per "visit," and was "visiting" several times per day.
Some people need lives.
