A Softer World is easily one of the best comics out there right now. The author (as opposed to the artist) is currently posting individual chapters of a novella he's written in financial increments (for each total $200 donated, he posts another chapter) to pay for his next semester of college. Good reading, and well worth $5 to keep him in school.

Ahh, it's a beautiful thing when someone can one-up Tom Lehrer.
