The breakfast of champions! If the sport is bypass surgery.
Starting Dec. 15, Carl's Jr. becomes the first major fast food chain to introduce a burger topped with a fried egg, developed exclusively with its breakfast customers in mind. [...] The Breakfast Burger features a fresh, fried egg, crisp bacon, hash brown nuggets, cheese, ketchup and a charbroiled all-beef patty, all on a sesame-seed bun. Participating Carl's Jr. restaurants will offer The Breakfast Burger during morning hours, for a suggested retail price of $2.39.
Don't tell anybody I told you this, but if you slide the cashier an extra buck or two, they'll dip the whole thing in corn batter, deep fry it, and roll it in powdered sugar.
TrackBackSo for an extra buck or two you can have the breakfast equivalent of a Monte Cristo sandwich. Boy, that's living! (Although probably not too long.)
Don't forget that here in NC we call Carl's Jr. "Hardees".

Which makes me wonder why "phat" caught on so widely, but we haven't (I don't think) seen, e.g. "phit", "phast", "phurious", or "phierce". Seems kind of phucked up to me.
Posted by: Mitch Mills at December 21, 2004 10:02 AMWhen I was in Aberdeen, Scotland, I checked into my B&B along with the fraternity brother I was traveling with. We were absolutely famished, so we stepped across the street to a little fish shop to grab a quick bite we could take back to the room. On walking in, I saw HAMBURGER on their menu and said, "Gods yes, I want a burger," given the dozens of fish filets I had consumed in the previous week and a half of driving around Scotland, and so I ordered it.
It was a beef patty, battered and deep fried, served in wax paper.
It was delicious.
My habits since then have gotten much, much healthier and I weigh a lot less for them. But I would totally order this, ahem, sandwich once just to see how it tastes - because I bet it tastes awesome.
