Quote of the day, from my childhood best friend, the man with no platform:
WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK
When you're mentally ill, you find yourself saying all sorts of things to yourself. This is what I found myself quacking like a duck yesterday in the car."Are you seriously quacking the word, "work"?, I asked myself. Yep.
It was at that point that I realized, "hey, I might have to go to work today, but I've got baby soft skin. Thanks Johnson and Johnson."
Heh. I hear ya, man. I have those moments too, but it's more like, "I might have to go to work today, but I've got smoky black lungs. Thanks, RJ Reynolds."
TrackBackDoes anyone else use "Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!"
It gets me out of bed.
Posted by: Tripp at December 3, 2004 11:35 AMAt a couple of church youth group retreats in my early teens, the young, hip adult that worked with us would wake us by bounding into the room and shouting, "RISE AND SHINE, YOUNG WARRIORS! IT'S A GLORIOUS NEW DAY FOR THE LOOORD!!!!" He thought it was just funnier than hell and in retrospect, it's just funnier than hell.
I'm sure the junior apostropher will look back and find it funny some day, too...
Posted by: apostropher at December 3, 2004 01:07 PMThanks for the nod. Carla asked me the same thing: "did you really quack like a duck?"
Yep.
Sucks not having a radio in the 30 minuite commute.
And by the way, you may have a kid with fetal alcohol syndrome start lurking your website. He's a student of mine that found me in cyberspace. I'd tell him to buzz off and go do his homework but he'd remind me that he doesn't get any from me.
Posted by: Jimmy at December 5, 2004 04:37 PMMy church camp leaders woke us up one morning, silently, dressed like clowns (complete with makeup). It was the scariest thing EVER. They made us dress the same and scare, or entertain, some underprivileged kids. Perhaps they were just unfortunate kids forced to be there. Take your pick, I don't remember. It was definitely the last time I ever went to church camp or the circus.
