Does anyone besides me note the irony of putting Iron City beer in an aluminum bottle?

Anyone?
Posted by: Lex at August 30, 2004 11:33 AMI do think that was the point. So, do feel that you aren't alone.
The more important issue though is that 1. Aluminum is a terrific conductor, and 2. AL is also very light, and does not retain heat energy. In other words, it's one of the poorest materials there is for insulating, which is what you want your beer container to do. Bad choice for a beer bottle.
Posted by: LSU Student at August 30, 2004 11:59 AMIf you click the link, though, they claim it keeps a beer chilled for up to an hour longer than regular bottles. Don't know how that would be, but they say it. Plus, resealable caps.
Weird.

Posted by: lenhart at August 30, 2004 12:15 PMi work in a beer distributor and we just recieved our first iron city shipment. i bought a case and everything they say is true. i nursed my first to see if it would stay cold and my friend did the same with his glass bottle. mine was colder way longer. i also did not have the aluminum taste that a can leaves. all in all pittsburgh bottling co. may be on to something. by the way nothing beats on tap... yet
Posted by: tom at November 16, 2004 12:21 PMI've been drinking bud in an aluminum for a few months now. One night I left a capped 16 oz. bottle in the sink and the next morning (about 9 hours later) the bottle was covered with frost. I am still completely amazed...I love beer and absolutey love these aluminum bottles.
