Yes, I know it's morally reprehensible, but the sadist in me just cackles at the prospect of a Yankees-Marlins World Series. All the more so because I honestly don't give a damn about baseball. The Red Sox will have to take two games in Yankee Stadium to advance, and the Cubs just blew a 3-0 lead, giving up eight runs in the eighth inning, practically ensuring a Game 7.
Heh heh. I'm sorry, I know it's wrong. I do. But it's just so damned funny. The television executives must be suicidal by now.
TrackBackhmmm... yeah, that's pretty harsh. I will admit to hoping for a Yankee vicory though - if only so that the Cubs could beat them in what'd be a sweet world series.

No way, amigo. A Cubs-Sox series would pretty much ensure a catastrophic meteor strike during the seventh inning stretch of Game 7 to prevent a winner from emerging. Thou shalt not taunt the gods.

And I was born and raised near Chicago, so I am lamenting about the Cubs. Are they snakebit or what?

Because a Cubs-Sox series would have generated nationwide interest in who would finally escape the curse. There is nothing remotely as compelling in a Yanks-Marlins series. Outside of the Yankee fan base, nobody wants to see them in another series and I doubt the Marlins audience extends much past the state.
But sure, it would be better than St.Lo-Minnesota on that score...
